|Lights Spectacular ~ Hill Country Style|
Friday, November 24th, 2017 to Sunday, December 31st, 2017 at Johnson City, Tx|
The twinkliest town in the hill country celebrates its 28th annual Lights Spectacular.
For the last 28 years, Johnson City transforms itself from a slow-paced, presidential hometown nestled on the banks of the Pedernales River, into a bright beacon of light like a guiding star welcoming visitors with good old fashioned Christmas cheer.
Chuckwagon Food Court - Nov 24 & 25, 2017
During the opening weekend evenings, local social clubs and non-profit organizations operate special holiday food booths in the "Food Court" area on the Courthouse square in the JC Bank alley. Traditional offerings at the booths include funnel cake, hamburgers, sausage on a stick, corn on the cob, fajitas, and my favorite, chili cheese fries (yummy!). This is a fund raising opportunity for local organizations (from Little League to Lions) to support their activities during the year. They start opening around 5 pm and make a great place to stop for an alternative dinner. ?
Free Family Fun & Pet-Friendly The season-long celebration is family & pet-friendly with no admission and lasts until New Year’s Day. ??

About the Council
The City of Horseshoe Bay was incorporated in 2005 and is a Home Rule City with a Council / Manager form of government. The City Council consists of 5 voting members.
City Council Meetings
A typical City Council meeting begins with the Mayor determining that a quorum (at least 3 members) is present. The Mayor then calls the meeting to order. Following an invocation and the Pledges of Allegiance, City Council begins the official business of the meeting. Proclamations, Staff Recognition, and Public Comments are addressed first. Next, the Council considers the Consent Agenda. Consent agenda items include routine, non-controversial items such as the approval of meeting minutes or the purchase of equipment and supplies already budgeted. Following the Consent Agenda, required Public Hearings are held, and individual Business Agenda items are considered. The Council may, or may not, convene into Executive Session (closed meeting) if necessary prior to adjourning the meeting.
