PROPERTY OWNERS' ASSOCIATION

Horseshoe Bay Memorial Association, Inc.

For a number of years residents of this community expressed a desire for a cemetery. Efforts to establish such a facility met with frustration and failure. However, in 1989 the generosity of two Horseshoe Bay families resolved major problems when one donated the required land and the other provided for a long-term no-interest loan to construct a Mausoleum with a capacity of 72 crypts and 48 niches.

Horseshoe Bay Property Owners' Association, Inc. sponsored the creation of the Horseshoe Bay Memorial Association, Inc., a Texas non-profit corporation. In September 1989 all property owners were offered an opportunity to purchase crypts or niches. The response was immediate and approximately one-third of the spaces were sold.

The Mausoleum is located in the Eileen M. Hurd Nature Preserve located along the south side of Horseshoe Creek. This property has been deeded to the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners' Association, Inc. as a nature park to be preserved in its natural state for the benefit of present and future property owners. A nature trail was constructed in 1990. The existing Mausoleum was deeded to the Memorial Association along with necessary easements and access paths.

The access road to the Park and Mausoleum is located between Horseshoe Bay and Horseshoe Bay South off Mountain Dew and may be visited daily during daylight hours by property owners and their guests.

For further information concerning use of the Nature Park and/or purchase of crypts or niches, contact the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners' Association or Memorial Association office at Quail Point Lodge (598-8795) or write to PO Box 7773, Horseshoe bay, TX 78657.
