WHY DO WE NEED A ROAD RENEWAL PROGRAM?
Well, here are the facts:
· Some of the roads in Horseshoe Bay are over 30 years old
· Base failures exist on some of the major roads
· The road survey of 2008 revealed significantly more deterioration than revealed in the 2004 road survey
· Our available funds can only slow the rate of decline, but it is a losing battle
· Cracks in the streets, edge failures, and shoulder erosion are evidentWhat happens if we don’t do anything?
· The roads will continue to deteriorate, perhaps with increasing speed as the POA will not have available funds to handle repairs
· The value of your property may decline due to poor roads
· More edges will fail and more potholes will appear
· Costs of repairs and renewal will increase the longer we delayWhat are you asking for at this time?
· No money today, but give very close attention to the Road Renewal Survey you will shortly receive. The survey is not binding, but will assist in preparing a program to present to the POA members for a vote.
